Women's Connection Needs You!

Women’s Connection is powered entirely by its members. We are 100% volunteer run, and everything you see on our calendar, from walks and workshops to dinners and gatherings, happens because someone like you chose to make it happen. Our community thrives on this spirit of contribution, and as membership grows, so does the need for volunteers to keep creating the connections at the heart of our mission.

Getting involved is easier than you think. Joining a committee or helping with an event is a fun way to meet people, make friends, and leave your mark. Most committee members plan only a few events a year, with plenty of support along the way. And if planning is not your thing, there are many other ways to share your talents, from welcoming new members to coordinating small groups to helping behind the scenes.

We also have several leadership opportunities open for those ready to take on a bigger role. If you have ever thought about leading, now is the perfect time. You will have guidance and encouragement to help you succeed.

See the extensive list of volunteer opportunities below and find a role where your skills match the needs of Women’s Connection.

Email chicago@womenconnecting.org and let us know how you would like to volunteer!  Your involvement keeps Women’s Connection thriving. Find the role that sparks your interest and join us in creating meaningful experiences for our community.

Event Hosts

Home-based events are some of the most popular offerings at Women’s Connection, and demand continues to grow. Many fill quickly and often have waiting lists. Opening your home is a simple and meaningful way to contribute. You provide the space and a welcoming atmosphere, and our committees handle the planning and details. We are currently looking for hosts for the following types of events:

Table Talk
Small group discussions centered around meaningful topics selected from “Table Talk” cards. Hosts should be able to accommodate either one group of 8 or two groups of 6 or more.

Book Club
Small group discussions centered around a selected book. Group size is flexible based on the host’s space and preferences.

Cooking Club
Themed dinners where attendees share a meal by bringing assigned dishes coordinated by the host. Hosts should be able to accommodate 8 or more guests for dinner.

BUNCO
Fun and easy-to-learn dice game played in groups. Hosts should be able to accommodate 3 or more card tables with 4 players each. All supplies are provided except chairs.

Euchre
Fast-paced card game played in groups of four. Hosts should be able to accommodate 2 or more card tables with 4 players each. Card tables are available for member use.

Board Games
Casual game gatherings hosted during the day or evening. Hosts choose the games and determine group size based on available space.

Tell Me a Story
Interactive story-based discussions with no pre-reading required. Hosts should be able to accommodate 8 or more members. All supplies are provided.

Speaker Events
Engaging presentations hosted in members’ homes. Hosts should be able to accommodate at least 10 members, depending on the event.

Email chicago@womenconnecting.org to volunteer to be an Event Host.

Additional Event Planners

With so many new members joining, the demand for events has grown quickly, and we need your help to keep up! Events are at the heart of how we connect with each other. Here are a couple of ways you can contribute:

TGIF Small Group Happy Hour
Our TGIF Small Group Happy Hours are a popular way for members to connect in a relaxed setting and enjoy meaningful conversation in smaller groups, typically around 8 attendees. We would love to offer these gatherings more often and are looking for volunteers to host by selecting a favorite restaurant or gathering spot, making a reservation if needed, and arriving a few minutes early to welcome attendees.

Meet Me There Events
These events bring Women’s Connection members together at activities already happening around town, such as concerts in the park, cooking classes, or candlelight performances. Once added to our calendar, everyone knows a member will be there, making it easy for others to join in. These events are simple to plan, require no minimum attendance, and create more chances for members to connect. Anyone can organize a “Meet Me There” event, and we’d love to see more of them!

Other Events
Have a great idea, a special interest you’d like to share, or community contacts we could tap into? Even if you are not on an event planning committee, we’d be happy to help you bring your event to life and add it to the calendar.

Email chicago@womenconnecting.org to share your ideas for events you’d like to help plan.
