Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the  list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Event Information
MSP Urban Hiking - Lake of the Isles - May 22 2026

On Friday, May 22, twelve women enjoyed a hike led by Pascale around the Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. During our walk, Babs provided interesting information about "the pencil" which you can see in the background and will be sharpened on June 6. Check it out here. Then we had a delicious lunch at the Red Cow on Hennepin which is closing soon.

On Friday, June 26th, at 10:00 Barb is leading a hike at Elm Creek Park in Maple Grove.  Afterwards, lunch will be at The Lookout.  Register at the link below so she knows to wait for you.
