Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the  list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Event Information
MSP Urban Hike 9 Mile Creek
13 women participated in our September hike at Nine Mile Creek loop starting in Moir Park in Bloomington. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful hike. After the hike, 8 women had lunch at the locally owned Perk Up Kitchen.

One of our members put it well when she said "The hiking group is always introducing me to such interesting women and beautiful places."

Our October hike is the hike previously planned for August but cancelled due to weather.

Lauren is once again coordinating our hikes which will be on the fourth Friday of the month. If you have already volunteered to lead one, thanks. If you are open to leading, contact Lauren. You can find her in the membership directory.

The group is not limited to only walking once a month. If members want to plan additional hikes, please contact Lauren so we can get them on the calendar and in the newsletter.
