Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the  list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Urban hiking Lake Harriet 11.21.25
8 women participated in our November hike at the Lake Harriet. It was a another beautiful day - you can see the gorgeous blue sky in the photo! After the hike, 5 hikers went to Kim K's lovely nearby home for a beverage and continued conversation.

We won't be hiking in December. In January and February, we plan to walk and have lunch at the Mall of America. This was well attended last year. We have a firm rule against slipping and failing on ice or snow so we try to make sure everyone can easily adhere to that rule! Watch the January newsletter for more information. Hopefully we can get outside again in March.

Thanks to Lauren for coordinating our hikes again this season.
