Ways to Give
Donate cash by credit card or check.
A gift of any size makes a meaningful difference. Click HERE to donate to our Fund for the Future using a credit card. To send a check, use this address: 209 W. 29th Street, Suite 6166, New York, NY 10001.
Request a matching gift from your employer.
Many employers will match charitable gifts made by employees or retirees. Contact your employer for details of its plan. You will need to make an initial donation before requesting a match. Click HERE to donate.
Donate appreciated securities.
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds can enable you to avoid capital gains tax on the increase in value. You may also receive a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of your gift. Your financial advisor or brokerage firm will make a direct transfer to our brokerage account at Schwab. For details, send an email to donations@womenconnecting.org.
Make a tax-efficient gift from your IRA.
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA to Women's Connection. The amount of your gift will be excluded from your taxable income and will be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution for the year. Contact your IRA custodian to make the request. They will send a check directly to Women's Connection. If you have questions, send an email to donations@womenconnecting.org.
Name Women's Connection as a beneficiary.
You can name the organization as a beneficiary of your will or trust, retirement account, life insurance policy, bank account or investment account. Simply share the following language with your attorney: "I give [percentage, a specific amount, or remainder] of my estate to The Transition Network, dba Women's Connection, a nonprofit organization registered in the State of New York, to support its mission."
Establish a lasting legacy with an endowment.
An endowment is a permanent fund that provides ongoing support for an organization. You can create an endowment in your name, or you can name it in honor of a loved one. It's also possible to specify how you want the money to be used. Darla Hastings, our Executive Director, will guide you through the process of setting up an endowment. Write to her at darla.hastings@womenconnecting.org or call her at 781-799-2202.
