The new Tang Wing for American Democracy opens as we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary. Our one-hour docent-led tour will explore how the Founding Fathers’ concept of democracy has stretched, contracted, and shifted throughout the nation’s history. We learn about the how and why of our democratic government through The New York Historical’s renowned archive of art and historical objects.
When you arrive on September 29, please check in at the Membership Desk. The tickets you will receive at the Membership Desk include full-day Museum admission, individual vouchers for reduced regular admission tickets on a future visit, a 10% discount in our Museum Store, and access to our films, We Rise and New York Story (pending availability).

After the tour, we’ll head to a nearby restaurant for an optional lunch to continue the conversation about the walking tour and enjoy each other’s company. Please plan to bring cash to cover your meal.
