Discover the rich history of Frank W. Woolworth's  “Cathedral of Commerce”.  The building makes a statement about Frank’s wealth, ego, and his view of where the Woolworth Company stood on the world stage of commerce.

The Woolworth Building is an engineering feat and taught engineers and architects alike that you could build that high (the tallest building in the world from 1913-1930).

Hear the stories of its remarkable construction, Frank’s history, and how he succeeded in creating one of the most successful retail businesses in the history of mankind… that would change shopping for all of us.

Please plan to arrive at 10:50 AM, as our tour starts promptly at 11AM.

After the tour, we’ll head to a nearby restaurant for an optional lunch to continue the conversation about the walking tour and enjoy each other’s company. Please plan to bring cash to cover your meal.

Our Guide: Bob Gelber

Bob Gelber, our tour guide who made the Metropolitan Museum so special for us, is a highly decorated, licensed NYC tour guide known for founding his own walking tour company, Walkin' NY. He specializes in neighborhoods and specialty tours across Manhattan and Brooklyn, and received the Guiding Spirit Award.

He is one of the exclusive, official guides authorized to lead tours inside the private, iconic lobby of this historic "Cathedral of Commerce".
