Coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States, Out of Many: Reframing an American Art Collection is a celebration and examination of the beauty and complexity of this nation’s history. Presenting artists well-known and understudied from the permanent collection, Out of Many builds a dynamic story about how, from the early 20th century to the present, various artists have imagined and depicted the people, cultures, landscapes, and histories of the United States.
We'll meet at noon in the Phillips lobby. On first Saturdays, BoA Credit Card holders receive free admission (usually $15/$20), so, if you have one, be sure to bring it. We'll spend about an hour and 20 minutes at the museum. In addition to the Out of Many show, you might want to take in the Staff Show that showcases the creative talents of the museum’s own team or the 1:00 pm Spotlight Talk, a 15 minute deep dive into a single work of art.
Around 1:20, we'll gather back at the lobby to head to Viet Kitchen (https://vietkitchendc.com/) for a delicious lunch.
Event Host: Gretchen. Repeat attendees will be invited to host a future event.
