We will be headed to A Wider Circle which provides home goods to those in need furnishing 10- 20 homes each month.
What Will We Be Doing
Our team of volunteers will sort donations and stock the showrooms where clients select their items. In addition, we may unload donations from vehicles that pull up to our warehouse to drop off donations, help load items into client vehicles, and take donated items (bags of clothing, boxes of toys, etc.) to the appropriate section in our warehouse.
Prior to Our Visit
Prior to your visit, A Wider Circle requires us each to register as a volunteer using their online portal. This includes signing a liability waiver. You will not be able to volunteer if your registration isn't complete.
Where to Park
Please park along Louis Street, Louis Avenue, Glen Ross Road or anywhere along Luzerne Avenue (except #2201 & #2203). To find this neighborhood, check here. You are also welcome to park at 9141 Brookville Road, A Wider Circle's Administration building which is one block away.
What to Wear
Please wear pants and tops with family-friendly and non-political messaging. You must wear closed toe shoes including sneakers or boots. The warehouse, where the volunteer activity takes place, is not climate controlled so dress for the weather.
At Arrival
Enter at the main entrance and let the receptionist know you are part of a volunteer group. A Volunteer Coordinator will greet you and guide you to a conference room where you can gather and sign-in using your A Wider Circle Volunteer account. If there are group members who did not pre-register, there will be a laptop available for on-the-spot registration.
No Photos, Please
At A Wider Circle, we want to preserve the privacy of the people we serve. Therefore, we would appreciate you not taking pictures in the showroom, where clients are. Pictures can be taken outside of the main entrance, and in the warehouse downstairs while sorting and preparing items that families take home.
