Join a team of Women's Connection women to help prepare food for those in need in our community. You can learn more at www.nourishingbethesda.org.
Our assignments may include:
- Packing groceries into bags and stacking them on pallets
- Packing recovered bread and bagels into bags
- Packing "Weekend Bags" for local elementary school students
- Packing hardy fruits and vegetables into net bags
Please complete Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability before attending.
Parking is available onsite. Please park in the back row of the front parking lot. The front row nearest the door is reserved for our clients. Carpooling is encouraged when possible.
After we finish the project, we will head down to Wildwood Shopping Center at 10241 Old Georgetown Road to enjoy a casual meal at Flower Child (www.iamaflowerchild.com) and conversation.

We recently learned that in addition to providing food, Nourishing Bethesda also provides its clients with feminine hygiene products. Its long-time partner, who provided the supplies, had to step away, so for the moment, some women in our community are left without feminine hygiene products. Not being able to meet such a basic need is unacceptable, and we invite you to join us in filling this gap.
If you are not familiar with Nourishing Bethesda, it serves more than 7,000 individuals in our community each month, including many children, families, seniors, and neighbors transitioning from homelessness, offering much-needed nutritious food. While some might think there is no need in this area, significant demographic changes over the past decade, sharply rising inflation, the high cost of housing, and other factors have left the region with pockets of poverty.
We ask you to consider donating packages of pads (light to heavy), liners, and tampons. Pads are the most requested. You can lend your support in whichever way is best for you:

If you prefer, Nourishing Bethesda is always in need of food. The most needed food items include canned tuna, salmon, and chicken; rice and pasta; canned soup; cooking oil; peanut butter; canned or dried beans and lentils; canned tomatoes and tomato paste; canned corn and mixed veggies; and plain and low-sugar cereals. To avoid mishaps, please don’t donate items in glass containers.
Thank you for joining us as we look out for one another in challenging times for many.
